Home Delivered Meals
'Meals On Wheels' Serving Pender County
Applicants for our Meals on Wheels Program must be a resident of Pender County. A phone screening assessment is required to determine eligibility. A home visit may be required to complete the assessment prior to enrollment into the home delivered meals program. Typically, there is a waiting list for enrollment into this program. Participants are reassessed to determine continued eligibility.
To be Eligible:
A Participant Must Be . . .
- Pender County resident age 60 or older.
- Unable to meet thier own dietary needs.
- Homebound, unable to cook or shop for themselves.
- Nutritional needs NOT met by family, friends, or others.
Nutrition Services
Proper nutrition and a well-balanced diet are necessities of life. For those who are homebound and unable to prepare their own meals, we offer the Meals on Wheels Home Delivered Meals program throughout the county. For those individuals interested in socialization and participating in various activities, we offer Group Meals at both of our senior centers.
